I heard Fred on 7.197 but Noise Floor here is S9! Very Bad conditions.
Wow! Congratulations to Aron, Abby, and Jeremy – it sounds like they were pretty busy. I wish I could have joined you in operating N1FD but I had family commitments that I couldn’t free myself from.
I did hear Aron on the air and he sounded great. I tried to work him on 20M before I stepped out but he wasn’t able to hear me due to being too close.
Anyway, great job everyone.

Hi Bambi:
The testing with Matt should find a solution for you. I live in Merrimack and usually use a G5RV for the net. It runs broadside East-West and I operate with 50 watts or less. I would guess most of us are running horizontal polarization; but a few like Matt and Russell have success with verticals.
Catch you on the air sometime.

Dave N1RF
Yep it is. And QSLing too.
I’m going to send out a reminder in a sec.
Hi Matt
Thanks for the reply, I have the software and cable already, The system is Analog it is Concord Fire Alarm. I have talked to some others interested in this and they dont really care about APRS system as the pager does not have a locator in them anyway. The research I did shows that there is a PL code and their might be some Motorola tones as well, I am guessing that these little radios cannot handle the Moto tones.

Go the that band and find a clear spot on the waterfall. Then fire up and Call CQ. Now you can hear yourself as received on the West Coast!

The Bend-Gard owner has brought some of his products to demo to the Near-Fest ham radio flea-market over the last couple of years. So you could contact him to see if he’ll be there again this year (depending on your schedule).
Near-Fest also usually has another vendor that brings along a large collection of military surplus masts, base, rings and accessories. The masts are stackable 4ft sections of fiberglass (estimate 1.5 inches in diameter, or also they have available stackable aluminum sessions. Unfortunately, I don’t have a link for these, but believe they come from upstate New York.
Hope this helps.
Mike
NEW MORSE CODE CLASS starts tomorrow at 9AM.
Please contact me [email protected] if you plan to attend.

Hi Tony:
Perhaps you have already moved forward on this task. I wonder if you have looked at the mast raiser/support DIY/kit from bend-gard.com ? The website has some detailed pages on how to build the mast raiser and how to secure it in ground or bracketed to house.
