A June Newsletter Call for Articles (FD edition)

Field Day 2018 has happened, and I know you have something to write about. Maybe you made a difficult QSO, learned some new engineering factoid setting-up/breaking-down, or just hung around the food tent and caught up with some friends. Either way, write in and tell us about your own FD experience! We are planning to publish our May newsletter on June 30 and we’d really like to have your article!

Maybe you’ve built something new recently, had an interesting experience, learned a new operating or technical skill, saw something interesting on the Internet, put up a new antenna or improved your station, did something interesting during an Amateur Radio activity that you can share, worked an interesting station, DXpedition or event. You get the idea.

If you are new to the club, we’d certainly like to hear your thoughts and topics that you find interesting / awesome about the wonderful world of amateur radio.

All of these topics and many others make interesting articles for others to read about. Articles do not need to be very long either. A picture or two and a few paragraphs is all that you need.

We are especially interested in reading about our members’ backgrounds and interests. This is particularly true for members who are on the 2018 Executive Committee. Please take a minute and write your Member Spotlight today. Here are some good examples of member spotlights to help you to get started –

    Frank, N1DGQ
    Brian, AB1ZO
    Anita, AB1QB
    Fred, AB1OC
    Abby, AB1BY
    Desmond, WK1V
    Rick, K8EZB
    Scott, NE1RD
    Jamey, AC1DC
    Dave, K1DLM

When you write an article on our Blog, it reaches many more Amateurs beyond the folks who are members of NARS/ Our website makes it simple and speedy to write an article.

Several of our articles have been featured as front page news on sites like QRZcom.

It is really easy to create an article on our blog. All you need is a web browser and an idea! Here’s a post which explains how to do it. If you’d like some help, just send me an email and I will find some time to help you to create your article right here on our website.

We hope that you can find a little time to create an article for our  newsletter. And if you do, go ahead and give yourself a pat on the back! You deserve it!

      Hi Craig,

Could you post your article directly on our website? That way, folks (and Hams around the world) can see it. Here’s a link that explains how to do this –

OK – no sweat!  I’ve published the article directly to the site.  It’s pending review.

But I’m confused: is there also a “newsletter” that gets distributed?

        Hi Craig,

Thanks for the great article. An excerpt along with a link will be published in the newsletter when it comes out. A link to your article also went on our Facebook and Twitter feeds as well as soon as you published it.
