Big fox had FB candy! Very tasty! Merry Christmas everyone!
A good choice Jamey – we’ll plan to hunt the foxes tomorrow!
Hi Brian,
This is probably about conducted emissions from your PC getting into your IC-7300 via the USB cable. You might want to try a choke isolated USB cable like this one. You could also try adding chokes to one of the USB cables that you have.
It looks like there was a problem with the repeater network controller. Bernie hopes to have it replaced by this coming weekend. The system was back up last evening.
Just a reminder that we won’t be holding our nets during the holidays – our next one will be on Sunday, January 7th. The problems with the repeater network should be fully sorted out by then.
Found the foxes! Nice location for a fox hunt Jamey. Thanks!
Hi Mike,
You have a very Merry Christmas too!

The dish antenna belongs to Bob, W1FDR. It is a relatively insensitive, highly directional setup that he uses for close-in fox hunting. He has his HTs mounted on the dish and can listen to the fundamental and 3rd harmonic of a fox.
It worked out to be a great compliment to the Elk Yagi that I had once we got within 50 ft or so of one of the fox “dens”.

The Wiley foxes were observed deep in their lairs just before the snow began yesterday. No doubt that they are still hunkered down in their secret hiding spots…

Want to team up to try to find the foxes next time?
Hi Jamey,
After finding the large fox, the tracks in the snow led us to the smaller one who was hidden in the woods so we found both.
