Icom IC-7300 Display Using N1MM Logger Plus

Icom IC-7300 Display with N1MM Logger Plus: As I get ready to write this I have my N1MM Logger Plus already setup to use in the VOLTA RTTY Contest this weekend.

Looks like its possible to use N1MM to provide a larger view of the Icom IC-7300 display. It would be great if there were also a standalone application that would do this.

The following video provides a demonstration along with some information on how to set up the radio and the N1MM+ software/

 

Here’s some more detailed information showing how to set up N1MM+ and the IC-7300 to provide the enhanced panadapter display.

N1FD Mobile HF Plans for the 2017 NH QSO Party

Jamey, KC1ENX and I are planning to operate as N1FD/M (Mobile HF) during the NH QSO Party this weekend.

We will be operating from a 500w Mobile Station. Our goal is to activate all 10 NH counties during the contest period which starts at noon ET on Saturday and ends 6 pm on Sunday.

Our planned route is shown above. We are planning to operate while we are moving. Also, we plan to stop on County Lines and activate multiple Counties at the same time. wherever possible.

ARRL Rookie Roundup RTTY – The Results are in!

The ARRL Rookie Roundup RTTY contest results are in!  The N1FD multi-op team placed 1st in the Multi-Op Area 1 category.  We had the highest score in the contest by a landslide!   The contest was held on Sunday, August 20.  The final scores were just posted on the ARRL Website.

Congratulations to Aron, W1AKI, Tom, AB1NS, and Jim, K1BRM. They operated from AB1QB’s QTH in the ARRL Rookie Roundup RTTY on Sunday, August 20.  The rules for the contest now allow any licensed Ham who had never made a QSO in the RTTY mode to participate.

With coaching from Aron, W1AKI a veteran of several previous Rookie Roundups, all team members quickly picked up RTTY operating.  The team made a total of 66 contacts to 30 states and 1 DX, including one with club member Mike, AB1YK.

Next Rookie Roundup is CW

The next Rookie Roundup will be held on December 17 and the mode will be CW.  Rookies licensed in 2015, 2016 or 2017 are invited to participate.  Also, anyone who has not made a CW QSO can join us as well.
