Weather looks great for our NPOTA activation at Saint-Gaudens NHS this Sunday – cool and sunny!
SUN AUG 7
Mostly Sunny
76° 53° 20% NW 11 mph 56% It was probably time for a new venue. The old arena was getting to be in pretty poor condition. I will be interesting to see how this changes the Dayton Hamvention going forward.
73,
Thanks for posting this Brian. Here are some thoughts that I have –
1) How can we best make Amateur Radio interesting to your people and folks who are currently not HAMs?
2) How does Tom think the ARRL should evolve going forward?
3) What should we be doing to best promote and group the ranks and influence of the Amateur Radio Service?
4) There have been some recent discussions around revising elements of the Band Plan and perhaps the Amateur License structure. What do you think the goals of these efforts should be?
I hope that others in our club will add their thoughts so that we can provide Tom with some input as to what we’d like to hear about.
73,
This makes a lot of sense Jeff. Thanks for posting it. Net is that I think I will try to learn to “copy in my head” early on and try to aim toward the 15 WPM speed mark.
73,
Here is a simpler link to Tom’s podcast.
Another way to get only the files you want is to open the CD Rom to view files. In the ‘Search’ box, type *.MP3. The search results window will have only the mp3 files. Select all and copy to your MP3 device.
Thanks Ed for sharing your 13 Colonies experiences with us!
QSL card party at Anita’s and my QTH This Sunday afternoon – all of the 13 Colonies Ops are Welcome to join the fun!
73.
All club members are welcome so you should be fine. See you Saturday!
73,
Great! Maybe Saturday after CW class? Anyone else who would like to help is also welcome.

Hi Wayne,
We take a little different approach to QSL cards. Since we have electronic logs, I can upload all of our contacts to LoTW, ClubLog, etc. This take care of a good bit of the confirmation process. I do end up receiving several hundred paper cards. The process these is to confirm them in our logs, generate the return cards using the computer and then stuff the returns in the provided SASEs. This process needs to be done at my QTH. Would you like to help me with this to see how it works? Others are welcome as well. If you would, let me know and we’ll schedule something one evening to do it. I already have a few hundred cards waiting for processing.
