<p style=”text-align: left;”>I have a fairly standard shack with a radio (USB and DB9), solid state amp, SDR pan adapter, antenna switch, WinKeyer, a PC, etc.</p>
For apps I have DX Lab, N1MM, WSJT, N1MM>WSJT, SDR-Uno, CW Skimmer, and others.

The amp sets on the radio’s DB9 serial port and the antenna sets on a parallel port  so these items are isolated on their own interfaces.

For everything else I have a tangle of DX Lab, OmniRig, com0com, a virtual audio mixer, and some custom hardware. I still have to stop some apps before starting others and failing to get the order right can break the virtual connections.

So here is the Question: How do big stations deal with this? Is the secret some WestMountain hardware, radios with Ethernet interfaces and servers, multiple sound cards….do I write some code to change configurations that avoids the conflicts at the expense of functionality??

        Hello Hamilton,

I’ll also be interested to hear any recommended solutions to this problem.

I’m experiencing a similar problem when I switch between my Yeasu FTM300 running Wires-X & IC-7300 with DXlabs/WSJ-T/GridTracker. Everything is connected to my Win10 computer.

Programs like DXLab Command can provide a software gateway that multiple apps can use to access a radio’s CAT interface. Check out –

          https://www.dxlabsuite.com/

Many programs can use Commander simultaneously to interact with the radio’s CAT interface.
