Hello All,
We have stared meal planning for the NARS Field Day cafe. As we did last year, we will be offering a meal pass that includes unlimited food and drinks for the entire weekend. For meal planning and calculating costs, it is import that we get an accurate count of how many people we will be participating.
If you plan to purchase a meal pass, please send an email to Jerry Doty (K1OKD) at [email protected]. Once we get an estimate of how many people will be purchasing tickets, we will post instructions on how to pay and the cost per tickets before the June member’s meeting.
The meal ticket for last year was $30. We anticipate a similar cost this year. The meals will also be similar. For example:
- Friday Noon – Light lunch (e.g. sandwiches, chips, cookies, fruit)
- Friday Evening – Supper from the grill (e.g., dogs, burgers)
- Saturday Morning – Light breakfast (e.g., muffins donuts, juices)
- Saturday Noon – Lunch from the grill (e.g., hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, desserts)
- Saturday Evening: – Home cooked or catered meal (e.g., pasta, meat, salad, rolls, dessert)
- Sunday Morning – Light breakfast (e.g., cereal, bagels, muffins donuts, fruit, juices)
- Sunday Noon – Light lunch (e.g., deli sandwiches, chips, sweets)
Coffee, tea, bottled water, soft-drinks, and snacks will be available around the clock from Friday afternoon until Sunday 2pm. If you have any food allergies or strong preferences for meals/beverages, please note these in your RSVP message.
Finally, if any of you or your spouses could offer an hour or two at meal times to help prep and serve, it would be greatly appreciated. We are also are in need of coolers, large trash barrels, and other sundry supplies. If you could lend an item or two for the weekend, it would greatly help keep the cost down.
