Helping a school to contact the ISSHello,
We have an important choice before us. The ARRL and Amateur Radio are facing many challenges and the ARRL Board needs leadership and a hard-working director who can solve problems in collaboration with the Board and our leaders in Newington.
Both candidates in this election have been on the board before and have records. It’s easy to point out the problems that Amateur Radio faces, offer no real solutions, and suggest that voting for a different director will somehow solve the problems. What really matters is having a Director with the energy and skills to successfully influence the Board and the ARRL Leadership to act to solve the problems.
For the past three years, I have worked diligently with the ARRL Board and leaders to create programs and initiatives to attract new people to Amateur Radio and the ARRL. This work includes focusing on licensing, training, Ham Bootcamps, and other programs at the ARRL. As part of this effort, I have also played a leading role in setting up the club grant program, which is making $1M in grants available to clubs who want to help grow Amateur Radio and provide training to get hams to use all that their licenses can provide.
I have also worked closely with our FCC Counsel to protect our bands. I will continue to utilize my experience as a former member of the FCC Technical Advisory Council to ensure that the ARRL protects our bands and our rights as Hams.
I have been widely endorsed by club leaders and other leaders around New England for my work as your director. You can see what others are saying here – https://ab1oc-4-director.org/endorsements.
I need your support to continue this work. Please take the time to vote in the ARRL New England Division Director election.
The deadline to cast your vote is noon on November 15th. If you require assistance or have questions, you can contact Election Services at (866) 720-4357 or via an email to: [email protected]. Please don’t forget to vote.
Thank you.
Fred, AB1OC
