Tony asks about joining nets late:
On getting into a net late it depends on the situation. Generally nets are glad to fit everybody in. If the net is running late and there is another scheduled to start on the same frequency they might not appreciate a late check in. If you had been listening you may have heard the last call. The North American Awards and Traffic net is on 7185 from 2300z to 0030z, you can get on their list on the air or at their web site. At 0100z OMISS is also on 7185. They and many others use Net Logger, it is a free down load for windows. With a couple clicks of the mouse you can see the schedule for a dozen nets on several bands, pick one, and automatically be added to the list. A net might be called the YL-Net or the Navy-Net. Feel free to join in even if you are not a YL, they want traffic and will be glad to hear from you. Another favorite is ECARS at 7255.

I would highly suggest first download Netlogger, it is a great program for seeing nets that are currently on line and logging as well. No card printing with this program, but direct upload to e-QSL and files can be uploaded to other programs where you maybe able to print QSL cards.
Next link is to 3905 Century Club, another net that is more structured with check ins as uses calling areas and then periodic call for additional check ins. This group has digital, CW as well as SSB nets. Normally, 40m SSB is 8PM local time on 7.2675, but YL System net is just ahead of this net. You can see all these nets on Netlogger.

i really enjoying using net logger the omiss nets do have times or at a line # they will look for more check ins if you been on there often and using the aim chat window type in your omiss # (as once you downloaded it your call will show in the aim window) check in 10504 and net control will see that and may call you and ask for a roger roger then your added to this list all thou i like the way triple h net on 7190 @ 2 am they have a pre list you just say your call waiting for triple h net when that net looks for check in’s they go be the date/district for example tonight or on the 13 of October they will look for calls with 3/4/5’s or DX 1st its a easier way omiss it tends to be a free for all when it comes to checking in . neta north American traffic and awards net on natanet live or obreins web . as far as net logger some clubs use it for 2 meter simplex nets it would be a good introduction as are club is growing for the new licensed to download it if we was to use with permission of course the n1imo repeater system as there linked 2/440/220 that allows the new ham use of there repeaters (146730/443.500/224.500 pl’s 885) good coverage in NH as the Nashua 2 meter is good in some neighboring towns and you can create a net on net logger i have 1 set up as i attempted a 10 meter net when i moved to Nashua with no success , it is still on net logger I have recently updated it to new England area simplex net on 146.460 effective 10/12/2016 . i have not picked a set day/time for net any interest or suggestions???? please let me know . matt [email protected] or reply on here . 73’s matt n1zgn

and of course i always forget something . should the club have interest in doing something on 2 meters i do believe fred ab1oc expressed some interest in doing something and mentioned both repeaters possibly getting permission to have a net on 1 of them . i think the n1imo is a better choice coverage wise and it being linked is good as 440 may work better for some or 2 meters even 220 if they have a radio for that band??? i can access all 3 bands . and as far as 146.460 i will be on that frequency at 6pm every evening if anyone cares to join me and see how it may work out
