Field Day is almost here, and the Nashua Area Radio Society is preparing for another exciting weekend of operating, learning, public outreach, and fun. Whether you are a seasoned contester, a newly licensed ham, or someone who has never operated on HF before, Field Day is one of the best opportunities of the year to get on the air and experience Amateur Radio in action.

      Field Day Weekend Schedule

Our Field Day activities will take place at Hudson Memorial School in Hudson, NH.

Friday, June 26 – Setup Day

The setup team will begin transforming our site into a fully functional emergency communications station. Towers, antennas, networking, power systems, shelters, and operating positions all need to be assembled before operations begin.

We can always use additional hands during setup. Whether you can stay all day or just help for a few hours, your assistance makes a big difference.

Saturday, June 27 through Sunday, June 28 – On-the-Air Operations

Beginning Saturday afternoon, our stations will be on the air making contacts across the United States and Canada. We will operate multiple HF stations, a satellite station, digital modes, CW, SSB, and more.

      There is something for everyone:

      • Make your first HF contact
      • Learn to operate digital modes
      • Try satellite communications
      • Experience contest-style operating
      • Work alongside experienced operators and mentors
      • Help demonstrate Amateur Radio to visitors and guests

No prior Field Day experience is required. We will have experienced operators available to help you get started.

Special Tech Night – Tuesday, June 9

To help everyone prepare, we will be holding a special Field Day Tech Night on Tuesday, June 9th.

      Topics will include:

      • How to operate at Field Day
      • What to expect during the event
      • Logging procedures
      • Operating etiquette and best practices
      • Safety procedures for setup and operations
      • How new operators can get involved

If you have never participated in Field Day before, this Tech Night is highly recommended. It is a great opportunity to learn how everything works and to become comfortable before the event.

Tech Night starts at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, June 6th.   Click here to join our Zoom Meeting.

Sign Up for Operating Times Now!

Operating positions are already beginning to fill, and the most popular time slots tend to go quickly.

If you are planning to operate during Field Day, please sign up as soon as possible to secure the times and stations you prefer. Waiting until the last minute may leave fewer options available.

Whether you can operate for one hour or several hours, every operator helps us maximize our score while demonstrating the capabilities of Amateur Radio.

Here is the link to sign-up for operating times at Field Day.

Field Day Is More Than a Contest

Field Day is our largest club event of the year. It brings together members with a wide range of interests and experience levels to learn from one another, build friendships, and showcase Amateur Radio to our community.

You do not need to be an expert operator. Come learn, help, operate, and have fun. We hope to see every NARS member at Field Day this year!

      Mark your calendars now:

      • Tech Night: Tuesday, June 9
      • Field Day Setup: Friday, June 26
      • Field Day Operations: Saturday, June 27 through Sunday, June 28

Join us for what promises to be another outstanding NARS Field Day! We look forward to seeing you there.
