Right now, things are looking good for a HAB-3 launch this coming weekend! We are planning to launch from the School in Winchester, NH. We need three things to launch our HAB:
- Favorable Jetstream Conditions that keep us from landing in the ocean or an inaccessible location – this looks very good right now
- Decent weather and ground wind speeds below 15 mph at launch – Sunday, June 3rd looks OK for our Winchester, NH launch site
- Cloud cover of 50% or less – hard to tell this early but again, it looks like Sunday will be OK for the Winchester, NH launch site
The weather on Saturday does not look so good (chance of T-storms) so Sunday appears to be the best choice at this time. We’d like everyone to keep both Saturday and Sunday reserved as possible launch dates in the event that the weather or Jetstream conditions change later in the week. We will continue to monitor the forecasts and update everyone as we get closer to next weekend.
NARS members are welcome to join us at our launch site in Winchester, NH and everyone can track our HAB via APRS. More information about our HAB and how to track it can be found here.
Here are the path and weather predictions as of this morning –
