We are going to be publishing our October Newsletter in a couple of weeks. Please consider taking a little time and writing an article here in the ARTICLES section of our website so that we may include it in our newsletter.
Maybe you did a project recently that you can share. Perhaps you read an article about Amateur Radio elsewhere on the Internet and you’d like to share your thoughts about it along with some links here on our website.
Perhaps you worked someone interesting and received a QSL card or have a story to tell about your contact?
All of these ideas and many others will make interesting reading for our members. Its easy to write an article here on our website. Here’s how to do it –
Begin by selecting the WRITE AN ARTICLE choice from the ARTICLES menu at the top of the page. This will take you to a place where you can write your article, include pictures and links, check spelling, etc.
When you get there, hit the Add New button and write your article on the page which follows.
The editor works much like Microsoft Word or Notepad. You can Save Draft or Preview what your article will look like on the website using the corresponding buttons on the page. Don’t be afraid to experiment with the features in the simple editor. Some of the more useful ones are the ABC checkmark (spell checker) and the link button. If you hover your mouse pointer over the buttons, the pop ups will tell you what they do. There are also features to create numbered or bullet lists, change the justification of your text and make text bold or italic.
You can add pictures by clicking the Add Media button which will take you to the Media Library page. Just drag and drop you picture images onto the page and give them a Name and Caption via the options on the right. When you done, just hit the Insert into post button to add your picture into your article.
When you are all done with your article, hit the Publish button in the editor and submit your article. We will read your article and make sure everything is formatting well before we put it on our website.
Happy Posting and 73,
- Fred (AB1OC)
