After two successful tests of the Telebridge/Phone Patch capabilities here at our station, we are ready to support a school contact! ARISS has scheduled a Multipoint Telebridge contact using our station for next Thursday.

We’ve added some upgrades to our Space Communications Ground station to accommodate ARISS contacts with the ISS. The additions include:

  • A Phone Patch
  • A UPS Backup the Station’s Equipment and Computer

  2. Thank you, Mark. It was a little exciting there for a while. We tested the ground station side of things pretty here extensively before the contact today so I was sure that the issues were not here.

  3. Nice work, Fred. Kids were excited despite the technical issues. A good teaching moment on the complexity of contacting a station traveling at 18K mph in space.
