Minutes from the October 25th Executive
Board meeting and the November 1st Club Meeting

October 25th Bored meeting

In attendance at the October Board of Directors meeting was Ed, K2TE, Neil, N1DMA, Tracy, N1WIR, Gary, W1GRY, and Chris, K1SI. President Mike, K7CTW, was not present. Also attending as visitors were Jim, WW1Y, and Dave, N1SUE.

The meeting was called to order at 7:03 PM by Ed, K2TE, at which point he asked that the previous minutes be approved as published in the newsletter. It was noted Mark, N1ZYZ’s call was incorrect in the Board minutes. With that amendment the minutes were accepted on a motion made by Ed, K2TE, and seconded by Gary, W1GRY. Treasurer Mark, N1ZYZ reported that the current club account balance was $3511.97. The treasurer’s report was accepted on a motion made by Chris, K1SI, and seconded by Gary, W1GRY.

There was no membership report given.

Under activities, Neil, N1DMA, reported that the “Star Party” had gone very well and was a success. Neil also reminded of the upcoming Christmas Party on December 4, and gave each Board member tickets to sell. Under Training, ED, K2TE, reported he had not heard from Wayne, W1QC lately, but as far as he knew, the class was still underway.

Gary, W1GRY, reported that under programs, the November speaker will be Mike Raisbeck, K1TWF, from the ARRL. The December program will be “Awards Night” and January will be “Projects Night”.

Under Old Business, it was commented how well the turnout was for the vote on the Constitution and how smoothly it went.

For New Business, Jim, WW1Y, head of the nominating committee, presented a preliminary list of nominees for the 2000 board of directors. A final list of nominees is included in the November 1st minutes. Jim thanked Jack Warren, WB4MDC, and Ed Deichler, K2TE for serving with him on the nominating committee.

Also under New Business, Ed, K2TE, noted that the NH QSO Party would take place in February and wondering if the club is going to participate as N1FD. Ed would also like to explore the possibility of putting W1GFM, at the Marconi Museum, on the air for the contest.

On a motion made by Chris, K1SI, and seconded by Mark, N1ZYZ, the meeting was adjourned at 8:30 PM.

November 1st Club meeting

Meeting called to order at 7:05 PM by Vice President Ed Deichler, K2TE. Introductions were made at that time.

Activities chairman Neil Rosenberg, N1DMA, reviewed the star party. He reminded folks that the Christmas Party is December 4th at 7PM at the Horseshoe Pond Fish and Game Club off of Broad Street in Nashua. Tickets are available from board members or at the door. For more info contact Neil.

Membership chairperson Tracy Banks, N1WIR, announced that there were 171 club members in good standing.

Ed announced that the Novice/Tech class taught by Wayne, W1QC was continuing.

Mark Wagner, N1ZYZ, gave the Treasurers report. Current balance is $3511.97 . On a motion from Pauline, KA1LDF and seconded by Mary Jane, WA4WIJ, the report was accepted. Mark also reviewed the proposed budget for 2000. The budget is published in this issue of the club bulletin and will be voted upon at the Dec meeting.

Program chairperson, Gary Chevalier, W1GRY, announced that that the program for December would be “Awards Night” and that January would be “Project Night”.

Gary then introduced ARRL NE Vice Division Director Mike Raisbeck, K1TWF. Mike’s presentation spanned many of the current issues in the hobby and provided a look at where the ARRL feels that the hobby needs to go over the coming years.

Don KA1GOZ, stated that Nashua would be staffing the emergency center on New Years Eve. He was also waiting to hear about downtown activities.

Ed, K2TE, mentioned that the club was helping to organize the NH QSO party in Dec. The club call, N1FD will be a bonus station. Ed is trying to get the station at the Marconi Museum on the air for the event.

On a motion by Mary Jane, WA4WIJ, seconded by Gary W1GRY, the meeting was adjourned at 8:30 PM.
