As announced at the April club meeting, I am finding it difficult to muster any time to devote to GOTAP. With a new job at a small startup, my time will be even more limited.

As a result, I will have less time to devote to hobbies. Therefore, I have sadly come to the conclusion that it is in the best interests of the GOTAP program if I step aside. So, if you have some time and would like to help folks just getting started in the hobby, please see Mike. I would be happy to answer any questions that you have about the program.

Monthly Spiels

GOTAP is a program that the ARRL has put together in order to help new and existing hams get on the air and stay in the hobby. If you are finding it difficult to get on the air please contact me and I’ll do my best to have NARC help you get up an running.

I have been trying to run “code practice” on Tuesday and Thursday nights at 2130 (local time) by listening and calling CQ on 28.360 MHz. I have had many enjoyable QSOs with a wide variety of local hams. I would encourage anyone trying to build CW confidence or just working on code speed to definitely join in. Also, since this is a “practice”, feel free to announce yourself and join in the fun. Please note that I will try to continue the code sessions as long as needed, However I expect my time to be limited so you may want to let me know if you are planning on joining in. That’s all for this month folks, so long and thanks for all the fish....
