Field Day Planning

What a great field day! It just keeps getting better and better every year. And what about the weather we had? Thanks to everyone who helped make Field Day 98 a success. We’ll find out in November if we managed 1st place four years running.

What do you mean, field day hasn’t happened yet? Just because you got your bulletin before the 26th of June doesn’t mean you have time to read it. Now put this away until the 29th of June at the earliest. There’s way too much to do to get ready.

Are we there yet? Good. Now that Field Day’s over we have to start planning for next year. And more importantly we need to “prep” all the equipment so that it’s ready in the event of a real emergency. So, the last planning meeting of 1998 and the first one of 1999 will take place on Saturday, July 18th, 1998 at 10 AM, at WW1Y’s house.

After the meeting, we’ll all head on over to the club’s storage trailer to repack all the tower sections, antennas, coax, guy wires, and to prepare the tower buckets for instant use. Please plan on attending. This meeting will actually be the most important in the event of a real emergency. Without the equipment in a ready to go state, valuable time would be lost if disaster were to strike.
