Minutes from the June 28th Executive
Board meeting and the July 7th Club Meeting

June 28th Bored meeting

Vice President, Bob, KD1AW, opened the June meeting of the bored of directors of the Nashua Area Radio Club at 7:29 PM in the absence of president John, WS1E.

Don, KA1GOZ, moved the minutes of the previous board meeting be accepted as published. The motion carried. Treasurer George, WA1DEI, reported a current balance of $2,387.47, before Field Day expenses. Don moved the treasurer’s report be accepted as presented. Seconded by Jack, WB4MDC. The motion carried. There was no membership report due to the absence of the coordinator Ed, K2TE. Program coordinator Jack, WB4MDC, reported he would present the July program on integrated circuits. Jack will be followed in August by Rich Bono who will talk about radio controlled airplanes with amateur television aboard. September will be Rich, WB2OCR who will talk about nuclear magnetic resonance. An ARES/RACES program is proposed for October. Brooks, KC1PD, Activities coordinator, listed a club picnic/fox hunt for September 13th, a group picnic for the Jaffrey fireworks on August 23rd at the Jaffrey Airport. A tour of WMUR-TV is being planned for October or November.

There were informal discussions of the Field Day operation which took place on the weekend prior to the board meeting, but no action was taken.

The secretary was directed to contact Don Grant, N1UBD, concerning the status of a 40-foot box trailer that may be donated to the club for Field Day equipment storage.

Bob, KD1AW, brought up the issue of training and suggested developing some classes beginning in the fall for both novice and technician as well as resuming the CW practice on the 147.045+/224.28- repeater.

On a motion by Brooks, seconded by George, the meeting was adjourned.

July 7th Club meeting

President John, WS1E, opened the July meeting of the Nashua Area Radio Club with the rarely on-time Classie Junque drawing. Winners included: Julie Grant; Ed, WB1N; Dave, N1XOT; Pauline, KA1LDF; Spi, K1CWZ; and Dave, N1SUE.

Following introductions, Jack, WB4MDC, program coordinator, was introduced by Jim, WW1Y, to present the evening’s program on integrated circuits.

After the presentation, president John opened the business meeting. He declared the minutes of the previous meeting accepted as published in the newsletter. Treasurer George, WA1DEI, did not have the quarterly summary available at this time, but declared the club was “still solvent.” He reported the club balance was $3,329.77. On a motion by Frank, N1DGQ, seconded by Jim, WW1Y, the treasurer’s report was accepted as read. There was no membership report in the absence of the membership coordinator, Ed, K2TE, nor was there an activities reported due to the absence of Brooks, KC1PD. Jack, WB4MDC, reported the schedule for August would feature Rich Bono and Radio Controlled airplanes. In September, Rich, WB2OCR, would discuss nuclear magnetic resonance. October is slated to be an ARES/RACES program. Don, KA1GOZ, EC, reported there was a training session for SKYWARN set for July 9 at Nashua City Hall, and a RACES training program on July 12 at NHOEM.

Fletch, N1MEO, Field Day Incident Commander and Stuckee, reported Field Day went well although more people were needed for teardown. He indicated that this year’s score was higher than last year, however, we did not actually operate the 29A we had planned.

Jim, WW1Y, Club VE liaison, announced the next local VE session would be July 17th in Salem at the Pleasant Street Church.

Spi, K1CWZ, inquired about the club badges. The inquiry was to be forwarded to Ed, K2TE, membership coordinator.

On a motion by Frank, N1DGQ, seconded by Don, KA1GOZ, the meeting was adjourned.
