Minutes of the previous meeting were not available. In the absence of George, WA1DEI, there was no treasurer’s report. There was no activities report, nor anything on training other that we are still seeking someone to resume the code practice on 2 m.
Ed, K2TE, membership coordinator, reported there were 109 members, 14 expired and 8 renewal. He noted he needs date from renewing members on their ARRL membership.
Programs coordinator Jack, WB4MDC, outlined the upcoming programs for May through July. May will feature Brooks Tanner, KC1PD, activities coordinator, presenting a program on disk drive technology. For June, Fletch, N1MEO, will outline plans for Field Day in June. For July, Jack said he will present a program on integrated circuits. The August program remains open, but may involve the SKYWARN program and what it is.
Fletch, N1MEO, reported that the next Field Day meeting would be May 6th.
Regarding the Field Day equipment storage, president John reported there was no change.
Following introductions, Jack, WB4MDC, programs coordinator, introduced Brooks, KC1PD, who presented a program on disk drive technology, where it has been and where it is headed.
At the conclusion of the program, president John called the business meeting to order. On a motion by Jim, WW1Y, the secretary’s report of the previous meeting was accepted as published in the bulletin.
Treasurer George, WA1DEI, reported a club balance as of April 30 of $2,390.29. The report was accepted as presented.

Activities coordinator Brooks, KC1PD, said he was working on several activities, including a visit to Cushcraft and WMUR- TV. Other possible activities suggested included a visit to the FAA’s Boston Air Route Traffic Control Center, a canoe trip, a visit to the Haystack Observatory, as well as a visit to the TIAC Internet service provider.
Program coordinator Jack announced that the June program would be Field Day, presented by Field Day Incident Commander and stuckee, Fletch, N1MEO.
Don, KA1GOZ, ARES EC for E- Hillsborough County reported on a successful March of Dimes WalkAmerica walk-a-thon. He noted that a SKYWARN training session was being planned for the area, possibly in July, at Nashua City Hall.
Under old business, president John discussed the Field Day equipment storage issue, including building a shed and the need to find a location for the shed. He also noted that someone was being sought to resume the 2-meter CW practice.
Jack queried members concerning newsletter delivery, noting that some members, especially in Mass., were receiving theirs after the meeting date.
Jim, WW1Y, moved that the 1997 budget surplus all go to a fund for materials for a storage shed. The motion failed for lack of a second. Sterling, AK1K, stated that tower school was planned for June 14th.
Fletch announced that the next Field Day meeting would be May 6.
On a motion by Don, KA1GOZ, seconded by Ernie, NO1V, the meeting was adjourned.
