April’s not so foolish program will be brought to the club meeting by Mike Graham, NE1V. Mike works for the Ferrofluidics Corporation in Nashua and will be showing us how his company’s silicon crystal growing systems are used to create crystals which are sawed into thin wafers. These wafers are used by integrated circuit (IC) manufacturers to fabricate all those “computer” chips we’ve all come to love. He tells me his company’s equipment can make “sausages” ranging in diameters from 60mm all the way up to, well, I’ll let him tell you about the huge next generation crystals.
You don’t have to be a member of the club to join in the fun. Join us on April 4th, 7:00 PM at the Nashua Public Library for the next Nashua Area Radio Club meeting.
Do you have a “pet” activity which could be turned into a 30 minute discussion one evening at a club meeting? Let me know. I’m reachable by phone (listed inside the back page of the bulletin), by E-mail at ‘wjaywarren@juno.com’, and on 2 meters during commuting hours.
See you at the meeting! de Jack, WB4MDC
