Once again, the adage that old age and treachery will overcome youth and skill was borne out as the older slower individuals simply finished what they had started and sat down.
As anyone who has ever been at the bottom of a pile-up knows, the stress levels go up. While no calibrated strain gauges were available that evening, the sounds emanating from the bottom of the pile-up seemed to indicated that certain tolerance levels were exceeded.
