I hope you all enjoyed the Joe Rich’s presentation about Easter Island and the XR0Y DXpedition as much as I did. I’m going to hide my checkbook when the travel brochures I sent for start coming in, though.

For October, we have Ken Wickwire, KB1JY, of Mitre Corporation, who will give a brief description of amateur and DoD automatic repeat request (ARQ) protocols used for HF data communication, maybe including some recordings of what they sound like. He will describe a series of on- air throughput tests he has been running for the past year, and give some results. Finally he will speculate about where HF data communications is going.
