Field Day 1996!
My thanks go to Chris, KA1SIE, for filling in at the May meeting at the last minute. I have heard that ICOM 706 is quite a radio and am sorry to have missed Chris’s presentation.

June will of course be the Field Day meeting. If you have never taken part in Field Day, especially if you are a relatively new ham, this is your golden chance to see and try lots of different ham radio activities. Al, WA1TYB, no doubt assisted by Fletch, N1MEO, will tell us all we need to know about how Field Day will be run this year.

Looking further ahead, we can anticipate a plethora of practical hints and tips on July 1 as Jack, WB4MDC passes on some of his workshop wisdom. In August we have planned a presentation on recent research in digital modes on HF, and in September we will hear from a participant in the XR0Y Easter Island DXpedition (did you get your QSL yet?).
