is about to speak.

CQ NARC CQ NARC DE N1MEO QNI K

The NARC slow speed CW net is off and crawling. Hopefully by the time this column hits the presses my HF rig will be back on the air. If not, maybe I can talk someone into loaning me their IC-765...

In any event, I hope to see members and non-members who are interested in improving their CW skills checking into the net. Starting at NARC time + 1 hour (2000 Local, or 8 PM) Wednesdays, it can also help remind you that the Nashua 2 meter ARES net starts at 9 PM.

Lets have some fun with this net. The net frequency of 28.400 MHz (plus or minus) was chosen to allow anyone to go to SSB to coordinate what we are doing if we get too confused. Remember when you switch to voice to talk long enough for people to realize it and to switch over as well.

To help with improving CW net skills I’ve included a table of QN signals that are only used in CW nets. Don’t get scared off by the list. Remember this is to have fun and help us with our CW. If you don't know a particular Q signal, a simple “huh?” will get it explained.

Hope to see you each week.

The NARC CW net will be using some of these QN signals.
I will call the net up this way:
CQ CQ NARC NARC DE N1MEO QNI K
You will send the last letter of your call sign. For example if WB4MDC was trying to enter the net he would send a “C”.
I would send “C QNI K” .
Jack would send “WB4MDC QNI K”. I will send “WB4MDC QNE Hi Jack K” and wait for the next check in.
