The official 1995 NARC “Kill time while the ballots are counted” awards ceremony took place at the December meeting. A record number of awards were given out for both outstanding performance, and, well, not so outstanding...
Rich Royer, W1HZN, took three awards, one for being the man behind 60Hz power at field day, one for “Most Improved Generator Performance” for supplying that power uninterrupted in 95, and most importantly for 16 years of service in establishing and running the 224.28/147.045 repeater.
Dave Knight, KA1DT, was also honored for his 16 years of service in establishing and running the 224.28/147.045 repeater.
AL Simons, WA1TYB, won an award for being the 1995 Field day “Incident Commander” and his efforts in making NARC #1 in the Field Day 1995. Buzz Muzzey, KA1OMJ, was recognized for providing, preparing, and maintaining the Premier Field Day Location.
Jim Belanger, N1NH, was thanked for the use of his callsign on field day, and his efforts that helped put us first in 1995.
John Halbert, KA1HOV, was crowned “DJ Extraordinaire” for entertaining at the annual club Christmas Party.
Don Haney, KA1T, was officially recognized as the 1995 Coffee meister. He was officially recognized elsewhere, but the records in that matter are sealed.
Russ Santos, KA1OTN, was thanked for his efforts on behalf of the club and the Boy Scouts for the 1995 New England Jamboree.
Bob Peret, KD6LFW, was crowned “Pizza Queen” for 1994 - 1995.
Don Ames, W1GUU, won the award for Longest Field Day commute.
Bob Fyfe, KD1AW won awards for his machining the Field Day Filter Chassis’s and his time and effort in support of AMSAT Phase 3-D in the manufacture of the Earth Sensor Mounting Assembly.
Colleen Gaffey, N1HAJ, Mary Jane Warren, WA4WIJ, and Pauline Wells, KA1LDF each won awards for their continued behind the scenes efforts helping insure that Field Day, Picnics, Star Parties and the Christmas Party Are successful and enjoyed by all.
Henry Wells, K1CII, was thanked for his past Star Parties and his 1995 Un-Star Party.
Pauline, KA1LDF, and Henry, K1CII, Wells were recognized for organizing the field day filter project, winding dozens of toroids, and hosting the filter party.
Trish Dunn, N1LOI, won an award for her excellent job of assembling the RF filters.
Al Shuman, N1FIK, ARRL NH Section Manager was awarded the 1995 Eight Ball Award for his ability to rank NARC 11th in New Hampshire while the ARRL put us 1st.
Mary Jane Warren, WA4WIJ was honored for excellence in scraping toroids.
Jack Warren, WB4MDC, took two awards, horrible mention for getting the Lead out of his solder pot for the Field day filters, and an honorable mention for his enlightening and entertaining columns in past Bulletins.
Paul MacDonald, WA1OMM was honored for his many years as Editor and Publisher of the Nashua Area Radio Club Bulletin
