Scan, Scanning, Scanners

Many thanks to Dean Straw (N6BV) for his very interesting presentation at the September meeting. Dean is the editor of the ARRL Antenna Book. The topic of Dean's presentation was "Terrain Assessment for HF Antenna's". Dean demonstrated the effects of local hills and valleys on the radiation pattern of HF antenna arrays. For those who could not be at the meeting, most of the information covered in Dean's talk is available in the 17th edition of the ARRL Antenna Book. The Antenna Book comes with software, and is available from the club for $25.00.

For the scanner freaks, the October meeting is for you! On deck for the October meeting of the Nashua Area Radio Club is Bob Coburn (W1JJO), editor of "OFFICIAL" scanner guides. Bob is gonna fill us in on what's new and exciting on the commercial side of the VHF/UHF bands. If you have a scanner in the house, don't miss this one!

As always, I look forward to seeing you all at the next meeting. If you have an idea for a future meeting topic, let me know.

73 es keep ur final dipped! de Chris Garon, KA1SIE
