
We love to get on the air and operate! We have a long and proud tradition of operating excellence and we are very active in Contests and other on the air events. As a result of our dedication and the operating skill of our members, we have received quite a few operating awards. Our Call Sign, N1FD, or Number 1 Field Day is a tribute to our past operating achievements. Some of our operating awards and accomplishments include:

As a result of our operations, we have received several operating awards and certificates which recognize the operating skills and diligence of our members.
ARRL Operating Awards

We have earned an ARRL Worked All States Award for our N1FD call sign.

We have earned an ARRL Worked DX Century Club Award for confirming 100 countries using our N1FD call sign.
Contest Operating Awards

We paced well in the 2018 CQ World Wide RTTY DX Contest. We entered as N1FD in the Multi-Operator, Single-Transmitter category. We did quite well, placing #2 in Area 1 and in the top 15 in North America. You can read more about our operation here.

We earned a certificate in the 2017 June VHF Contest as part of our Pack Monadnock SOTA activation. Our operation was on 6m using Solar/Battery power.

A great multi-op effort by Abby Finchum, AB1BY, and Jamey Finchum, AC1DC created a first-place finish for N1FD in the 2019 New England QSO Party (NEQP).

We took the top spot in Area 1 Multi-Op category in the 2016 ARRL Rookie Roundup SSB.

N1FD took the top spot in Area 1 Multi-Op category in the 2016 ARRL Rookie Roundup RTTY.

We took the top spot in Area 1 Multi-Op category in the 2016 ARRL Rookie Roundup CW. This makes a clean sweep by N1FD operators for all three of the Rookie Roundup contest modes in 2016!

N1FD took the top spot in Area 1 Multi-Op category again in the 2017 ARRL Rookie Roundup SSB. We also had the highest score of any entry in this contest!

Special Event Operating Awards

Our operators earned the Nashua Area Radio Society the Top Club honors in 2016 Thirteen Colonies Special Event making 9,719 contacts in just 6 days!

Our operators earned the Nashua Area Radio Society both the Top Club and Top State honors in 2017 Thirteen Colonies Special Event making a record (for NH) 12,838 contacts in just 6 days!

The Nashua Area Radio Society again earned the Top Club award in the 2018 Thirteen Colonies Special Event. Our members made 13,622 contacts during the 6 days of the event – an increase of over 1,500 contacts as compared to 2017!

Our operators again earned the Nashua Area Radio Society both the Top Club and Top State honors in the 2020 Thirteen Colonies Special Event making a record (for NH) 22,696 contacts in just 7 days! We also had the Top SSB High Power Operating in 2020 – Fred, AB1OC with 5,171 SSB contacts.

We were the top club again in the 2021 Thirteen Colonies Special Event.
