Hi Don and everyone,
Join our Tech Night presentation on Tuesday, December 13th, 7 pm Eastern. Our Tech Night will be about Getting the Most from your HF Transceiver – Fred, AB1OC. Online meeting. Our pre-meeting get-together begins at 6:45 pm. Click here to join Our Zoom Meeting.
Fred plans on using the IC-7300 as the radio for his presentation but many of the principles and features are common across other HF transceivers and his presentation combined with a scan of the manual for your particular radio should be very helpful.
Hi Don, Perhaps you can join the Early Bird 10M Net today and we can do some on the air testing. I am happy to spend some time checking on how things are working. We meet at 3PM on or about 28.480. You can use Netlogger to see where the net is as well.

Reply to Stacey Martin of the Lyndhurst STEM Club for Girls:
Hi Stacey and Nicole,
Thank you so much for your input and comment about our forum post on Resources for New Hams. We love to hear from visitors to our web site and especially young people interested in STEM and Ham Radio. The post that started the thread dated from 2017. It is wonderful that it is still relevant and useful to you and your club. I created a forum post myself to share your comments with our members and all who might visit our web site. You can find the new post here:

I hope that this email finds you all well and we wish the best for you and your group.
November 10, 2022 at 8:03 am in reply to: N1FD-NARS EARLY BIRD 10 METER NET CHECK-INS 10-23-22 #149161Just dropping a note to express my interest in the Sunday 3pm “Early Bird 10-meter net”. For several weekends I wasn’t available to try to join.
Last Sunday Nov-6 I tried, but didn’t hear any NARS activity between 3pm and 3:30 around the target frequency. Also didn’t see any NARS net listed on NetLogger at that time (I’m brand new to NetLogger so I might not have been using it right.)
Is it the case that around 3pm I should see the NARS early bird net listed in the NetLogger “nets in progress”?
I’ll make it a point to try again this Sunday at 3pm.

We will not be meeting live at the NPL Theater on Tuesday Nov 1 for our membership meeting.
We look forward to seeing you next month.

Worked great for me. I like Thor22’s speed and forward error correction compared to a mode like PSK31. I was using a 71′ long end fed 1/2 wave antenna at 10 watts. I am only 5 miles east of Jim, although there are high hills between us.

P.S. N1MKA (my XYL) also made good contact on her radio using an OCF antenna at 10 watts.
I’ll give it a try on Sunday at 6pm. Never tried Thor but have used Fldigi with PSK31.
