Retired from 35 years of tech sales in scientific and environmental testing and sampling instruments. When I lived in AZ (30 years ago), I held a Technician Licence. Moving to MI I unfortunately let the license lapse. I interest in amateur radio has motivated me to study and take the new Technician License and presently studying for my General Licence. My interest is to communicate via repeaters and get involved in the SKYWARN group in MI. Also interested in HF so I can communicate to hurricane prone areas (St Croix-USVI) and monitor activity during hurricane season. This I would really like to do portably. Possibly a modest station at my MI home too My wife family owns lake property on Lake Winnepesaukee, NH in Meredith. We visit at least two times/ year. We also visit our condo in STX for two month stays, which too can justify portable operations while in STX. I appreciate all the hard work to present the Ham Radio Bootcamp. By joining via internet I can hopefully study resources to better understand topics for the General Exam. Also of interest is to join the club net via WINLINK that Anita talked about. I just need details on how to do this.
