      Hello Everyone,
I wanted to let all of you know that we have received our IRS determination of our tax status today.
The Nashua Area Radio Society is now officially a federal 501c(3) Public Charity!!!
Congratulations and a big THANK YOU to everyone who worked so hard to help us to secure our 501c(3) status. We will be setting up Amazon Smiles and other public charity benefit programs as soon as we appear in the IRS database. This will, no doubt, help our current fundraising effort on GoFundMe as well.

Great work! Congratulations! Hopefully it will encourage donations despite the tax code changes for 2018

Thank you, Burns. It turns out that most folks donate to charitable causes independent of the Tax implications.

The biggest benefit of becoming a 501c(3) is the matching contributions that many corporations offer only to 501c(3) public charities. An example of this is the Amazon Smiles program.

Also, several of the companies that our members work for (ex. Verizon) have matching programs for contributions that our members make to fundraising programs like our current one on GoFundMe. Some of these companies will also donate to NARS based upon the hours that their employees provide to help NARs with projects like our license classes, STEM training, etc.

          73,
