I just wanted to repeat my invitation, especially to the newer hams, to join me in integration and test of the radio stations to be used on Field Day (with the exception of the GOTA station Brian is configuring).
This is the 4th year I’m acting as Station Lead and I always want to share the experience and knowledge with others on the Field Day team. We’re starting small with me updating one laptop and tomorrow, Peter will be bringing his radio and we’ll start the integration and test of one station. Around the end of the first week of June, we’ll be gathering all 5 radios, clone the laptop configuration, and test the functionality of each station and the network to ensure everything is working properly.. I’ve attached a photo of the area in my basement we use for the integration..
As we approach Field Day we’ll pack and load everything up, and on Friday June 27th I’ll bring everything to Hudson Memorial School and the station team will work to set up tents and stations for operation as other teams set up generators, assemble antennas, erect towers, run cables, and otherwise prepare the site.
Obviously, we can’t fit everyone here at once but I can accommodate 3 or 4 at a time for this integration and test activity. If you are interested in participating, please respond to me at
[email protected] and we’ll set up some mutually agreeable times over the next five weeks.
