We have a SOTA/POTA event scheduled this Saturday, June 8th at Mount Kearsarge (SOTA # W1/HA-010) and Rollins State Park (POTA # K-2676). The ARRL VHF/UHF contest will be going on at the same time!

This event offers something for everyone! You can hike up – best hiking routes are from Winslow State Park – or even do a small hike from a parking area near the summit. Drive up is also available to near the summit with good views to the south and west.

Bring your 6m beam, 2m yagis or HF equipment and have a blast.

We’ll plan on arriving at the parking area near the summit at 10:30 am. Hikers should plan on a start shortly after 9:00 am – gates to the park open at 9:00 am.

Please respond to this post if you are planning on attending – especially if you are hiking so no one is left behind. I’m sure there will be members willing to share equipment at the top so don’t let that stop you from joining in.

      See you on the summit!

Looks like we’ve got 3 hikers! Mark, Keith and Bill you three may want to all hike together, but I’ll leave that to you to decide.

I am going to drive up to the parking area and set up there. I will be there as early as the park will let me in as I have to leave around 2 pm. I’ll have the KX2, IC71oo in my car and an HT. I’ll also have my buddipole and my endfed antenna with me along with the Elk for 2m/70cm work.

Looks like the weather is going to be beautiful! My cell is (617) 872-1046 and I’ll monitor 146.52 MHz on the way up and while I’m up there.

I’m looking forward to a fun activation!
