CANCELED: CW TRAINING CLASS on Saturday 9/3/16.

I have decided to cancel the Labor Day weekend Morse Code class.  We can resume the following Saturday 9/10/16 at the regular time: 9:30 – 11:30 AM.

HOMEWORK: Watch Ask Dave 14: The Anatomy of a CW QSO video on youtube.  Dave dissects an example QSO and explains the function of the various parts and what to expect.  This is a good guide to your first few on the air CW QSOs.

HOMEWORK: Practice the NUMBERS on the K7QO CD (sections 047. mp3 thru 065.mp3).  DON’T COUNT the number of DITs or DAHs but focus on the RHYTHM.

Revisit some of the letters that your having any trouble with.  Our next class is two weeks out… this should give you enough time to do some studying.

Try an On-The-Air QSO if you think your able – and don’t try to go to fast. Slow and Steady wins the race.

    Enjoy your “summer vacation”.

Just a reminder, the W1AW Code Practice MP3 Files are available online and can be downloaded to your PC or MP3 player.

    LINK: http://www.arrl.org/code-practice-files

All the speeds are there, don’t forget to scroll down to see all that is available.

    Enjoy

I forgot to mention it, but if you examine the Left Hand menu on the ARRL page you’ll find the Code Practice broadcast archive.

Files are sorted by speed and the archive goes back to about 2013.

Lots of good listening – also, the TEXT files for the message sent are included – so you can check your work.
