The ARRL Rookie Roundup CW contest is this Sunday, December 22nd from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm EST.  This contest is a great opportunity for CW newbies to try out contesting.

We will be hosting a multi-op entry, operating as N1FD from AB1OC/AB1QB’s QTH.  The code is very slow for this contest and newbies can work together.  If you are interested in joining us, please contact Anita, AB1QB at [email protected].

You qualify as a Rookie if you were first licensed in 2016, 2017, or 2018 OR if you have never made a CW QSO.

      Hope to see you here!

      73,

      Anita, AB1QB

      Hi Anita,

I plan on joining you this Sunday for the CW rookie roundup. I’m posting to the forum in hopes of encouraging others to participate.  I worked the round up last year and it was tremendous fun. As you point out, the code is slow and the participates are very patient with those new to CW. Everyone wants to make a contact regardless of the speed.

Even if you don’t know any CW but want to learn or see what it’s all about, please com join us. As a multi-op, all us rookies help each other with decoding and the software does all the sending.  It’s a lot of fun with zero stress.  I hope to see you there.

      Thanks,
      Jerry, K1OKD
