I’ve been playing around with it some more with the auto tuner and I can tune it up on every band except 160m. Am I doing something wrong or is this really possible?
Well, it depends upon what the SWR is on each band before you apply the tuner. If the other bands are 3:1 or less, they are probably usable. This is one of the advantages of using low-loss coax – you can use a tuner to overcome higher SWRs with too much loss in your feed line.
Check out 17m – this should be a great band for SSB. See what you can work there using your tuner. This will give you a pretty good idea what to expect. Have fun!
