    Hello all,

As a new member, I would like to introduce myself as it seems virtual meetings may be the new normal for a bit.

I have recently retired and re-entered the world of amateur radio after a ~45-year absence. My initial journey started during my teen years as a novice in training (I believe it was called) but was sidetracked by an interest in cars, girls, sports and yes CB Radio! Breaker, Breaker! It was a must-have during the early ’70s.

I am an EE by trade but never worked in the radio realm though always kept an interest that someday I would return to ham radio. I live in Hollis with my spouse Linda, we are originally from Massachusetts and have lived/worked in numerous other states including a significant amount of international assignments.

I received my technician in November 2019 and General in February 2020. I purchased some used equipment to begin my new radio journey. Currently, I have a Yaesu FT-450D, Yaesu power supply, and an 80-meter multi-band OCFD antenna. I am very pleased with my new setup and currently learning the radio and operating protocol. More on the equipment in my next posting.

I hope to meet you all during future events/meetings, after the COVID 19 has passed, and continue my radio learning journey.

    Regards,

    Scott

        Hi Scott

Welcome to the club! Yeah it looks like the next couple meetings will be online via the zoom app instead of face to face, but no matter we will find a way to make it fun. There will also be a 40 meter net ( freq approx 7.260) after the meeting. Looking to next months membership meeting we will be joined by Bob Heil.
