NARS is 40 and we’re celebrating with a special event “contest” over the weekend of October 12th and 13th. The event will run from 10:00 am – 8:00 pm on Saturday, the 12th and from 10:00 am – 6:00 pm on Sunday, the 13th.
Fred, AB1OC and Anita, AB1QB will be opening up their station during this time for members who would like to get on the air and really create the pile-ups! You can sign up for a time slot here: Sign Up Sheet for AB1OC/AB1QB.
Object:
To provide an opportunity for NARS members to contact and exchange QSO information with as many other Amateur Radio Operators during the contest time periods in accordance with the rules of operation.Rules of Operation:
The operation will be in accordance with current FCC rules or international rules as they apply.Operation on all bands and modes is permitted. Use of repeaters to make contacts is prohibited. 2 meters/70 cm and up are also allowed – simplex.
For voice operation please call “CQ NARS Special Event” to celebrate 40 years. On CW, operators can call “CQ NARS 40” or “CQ NARS”.
Stations may be worked once per band per mode. Digital modes include CW, RTTY, PSK, FT-8, FT-4 and all other non-speech modes. The phone modes include AM, SSB and FM.
All operators are working under the strict guidelines of the “honor system”.Exchange:

The multiplier will be the number of different states and the number of different NARS members worked
Multiply the total QSO Points by your multiplier to arrive at your final score.Log Submission:
Since this is a contest among only NARS members we will not be submitting logs, just a final score.Station Categories:
- All Single Transmitter
- QRP (10 watts or less)
- Low Power (100 watts or less)
- High Power (>100 watts)

- Youth Categories:
- Longest (distance) QSO
- Low Power
- High Power
- QRP
- Contacting most NARS members
