Hi All,
At our Membership meeting last Tuesday Dave, KB1JCU asked what we can do to attract more participants to our HF net. Fred, AB1OC suggested we have a net earlier in the day when propagation is there on 10 meters. I checked some propagation tools I use, and it looks like 3:00 PM is a good time to have a net. I volunteer to be net control for some initial nets to see what interest there is in the club and if we can attract people to join from outside of the club.
We will try having the net on our familiar 28.480 MHz but can’t know in advance if that frequency will be available on Sunday afternoon. I plan on using Netlogger to manage the net. Interested parties can see the frequency in Netlogger. The net will be called N1FD-NARS Early Bird 10 Meter Net. If you are interested but don’t have Netlogger you can download it here:
http://www.netlogger.org/download.php/
Check this detailed video on Netlogger here:
Basics of Netlogger for Net Control stations
The video goes into details for use by a Net Control Operator but is also helpful for anyone interested as a net participant.
I hope to see you there.
Jon, AC1EV

I did a practice run this afternoon (Saturday) and made 11 QSOs easily from NC to TX to CA. If conditions hold, we should have a good net tomorrow.
I hope to see you there.
