This is our new weekly net held in the afternoon while the band is open. Conditions were excellent this afternoon. We had check-ins from AK, MA, NH, AR, IA, FL, ID, CA, OR, and FL with Italy stopping by as well. Not everyone could hear everyone, but many could hear many and all had a chance to see if they could make QSOs.
N5PRA, Phil from Searcy, AR joined us again this week with a superior signal and it was good to have him as a repeat check-in. Our first check in was Tom, NL7OW from Clam Gulch AK. Tom was using 100 watts with a V-Beam aimed at the North Pole. He described the backscatter method he was using and demonstrated it compared with a directed array pointing in our direction. The backscatter was stronger. Tom said he could hear everyone and took calls and exchanged signal reports with all. Ray in Nashua was working QRP, and he got a 5/3 report from Tom.
We look forward to hearing from you on the net next week.
73,
Jon AC1EV
