Here are the check-ins to our new N1FD-NARS EARLY BIRD 10 METER NET at 3:00 PM on Sunday, 02/12/23.

    KC6CHL, Jorge, Van Nuys, CA
    KD6AJG, Tony, Santa Clarita, CA

This is our new weekly net held in the afternoon while the band is open. Conditions were excellent this afternoon. We attracted many operators from out west in CA, OR and WA. There was a second cluster of check-ins from the mid-west with MO, AR and TX represented. Closer to home we had check-ins from club members in NH and MA. Not everyone could hear everyone, but many could hear many and all had a chance to see if they could make QSOs with the visiting check-ins. Thanks to all for joining in.

The questions of the day were “Do you belong to a ham radio club and what would you like to see the club do or do better.” Heather KE0NHL said POTAs, Tech Nets, Tech Days, and antenna building. The tech nets are nets dedicated to technical questions with some Elmers in attendance. Tech days were chances for members to bring their equipment in for evaluation, repair, calibration, or programming. Antenna Days were for either builds or installations. Bobby KD5EYC likes that his club has Elmers available for an hour before the club meeting to help out their members as needed when they meet. Jeff KK6JJZ was operating portable off grid with 30W and he said he would like to see more portable events. 😉

The people I asked said their clubs resumed live meetings and they were happy to be able to meet again face to face.

Members wishing to join in on this net should look on NetLogger to find the frequency before 3:00 PM.

We currently have two members alternating as Net Controls for this net. If you are interested in sharing that role, either on a regular rotation or on an ad hoc basis, please let us know at [email protected] and we’ll work out the details.

    See you next week!
