Follow up question based on this meeting:

It was mentioned there is a big net on Friday nights over digital voice.

I thought listening to this would be interesting, to get a feel for the kind of things people do with this tech.

I am TOTALLY new to digital modes and I’m wondering what I would need to do to listen in to this net.

I think I heard I can use echolink to connect to it, and all that needs is a computer and a valid call sign, if I’m reading the wiki page ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EchoLink ) correctly.

Is this the best way for a total noob to listen in, or is there a better way?

I have access to a 2M/440 analog-only hand held, if that helps.

If it is the best way, what other info would I need to access this net via echolink?
