The next leap second will be inserted on December 31, 2016, at 23:59:60 UTC (18:59:60 EST).
I wonder if this will give the operators in a contest an extra second to make a QSO. 🙂 It might at least be a chance to put a rarely-seen time in the logbook!
Wait a second. Is this just second hand information? I can’t quite make the leap of faith required to second this idea. I hope that my comments don’t tick you guys off. I feel like I just caught this in time… 😉
