I am a new internet subscriber. I tried to connect to N1IMO-R with the iPhone Echolink app for Sunday evening repeater net. After waiting several seconds, received a timeout error. I do not have any problems connecting to other active nodes; they connect almost immediately. Windows 10 Echolink app has no problem connecting to N1IMO-R.
- Has anyone successfully connected with iPhone? If so, how?
- Are there known limitations to using iPhone?
- Is there something I can do to allow the iPhone to connect?
Any comments, suggestions, advice, instructions, etc ?
Thank you.

I have also tried to connect to N1IMO-R using my iPhone and have seen it time out. Connecting via the EchoLink PC application looks like it works. I have communicated to owner of the N1IMO repeater that our members and internet subscribers are seeing this issue with Apple products connecting to N1IMO-R, I will communicate to this thread when the issue is resolved.
Thanks and 73,

November 8, 2020 at 11:24 am #96559I am collecting some data to help the owner of the N1IMO repeater debug this issue. If anyone is having issues connecting to N1IMO-R EchoLink via an Apple device, can you please let me know if you are connecting via WiFi or Cellular? If Cellular, who is your Cellular provider?
Also if anyone is able to connect using an Apple device, please let me know that as well.
Thanks and 73,
Anita, AB1QB
November 9, 2020 at 10:08 am #97088Looks like I have iPhone Echolink enabled to use cellular data.
Carrier is xfinity (Comcast).
Disabled cellular data.
Connection to other nodes slower but still connecting.
N1IMO-R still getting timeout.
Re-enabled cellular data for Echolink.
End of report.

I cannot connect to N1IMO-R from my I-Pad. I am in Florida now and use WiFi.

I cannot connect via Cellular (AT&T) connections or WiFi with Cellular Disabled (Grande Communications) on iPhone XS or iPad Air.

I just tried my echolink client and could not connect either.
One thing I suggest is connecting to the *ECHOTEST* conference. If you can connect to that it should tell you that your app is working and your network is working. You can also transmit to that conference and it will replay what it hears back to you so you can be sure your audio settings are correct. It is a special testing mechanism that does not transmit on the air so it is safe to use.
If you just want to hear what echolink sounds like, try connecting to the *DODROPIN* conference. It is fairly active so hopefully you will find some people on it. Right now two guys from Australia are chatting away.

NOTE there is no dash in *DODROPIN* — it seems the forum software added that to make it look better, but it will not work with the dash.
November 9, 2020 at 8:25 pm #97240I have had the same trouble using my iPhone on both my local network and using cellular (Verizon). Thanks for looking into this Anita.
