Hello Everyone,
We have been working on providing a STEM learning opportunity for young people. The plan is the help young folks build and launch a high-altitude balloon carrying a 2m APRS Amateur Radio payload and a video camera. You can see more about what we are planning to do here.
Here’s who is on the team from our club –

If you’d like to join our HAB team, please let me know.
Jamey Finchum (KC1ENX) and I have approached several local schools about working with us on this project and there is good interest. We expect to have some meetings with faculty members in the near future. You can see the presentation for schools and parents that Jamey and I have put together here.
Brian Smigielski (AB1ZO) and others have been working on modeling a possible flight path and designing science experiments for the youth team to consider doing. You can see Brian’s presentation here.
We are trying to raise the funds we need to put the balloon and radio payload together and launch it. We have setup a GoFundMe page to help in this effort. Please consider making a donation to help us fund this project. It will be a great way for us to introduce Amateur Radio to young people.

Team,
The Windham High School Physics department launches a high-altitude balloon every spring with an APRS payload. The teacher that sponsors it is Pat Kaplo. It might be interesting for you guys to speak with him as well. His email is [email protected].

Thanks for the info Dave!
