I encourage all NARS members to roll up your sleeves and join in with Field Day 2023 planning and setup. This is a great opportunity for both new hams/members to learn by doing and experienced hams to practice their Elmering skills. It’s also a great open-air opportunity to meet and work with your fellow NARS members.
I was first licensed in June, 2021 and joined the Field Day team as Field Day 2022 approached. Even as a new ham, I got to experience the tower-raising practice activity and as a member of the Station Team was able to set up four ICOM 7300’s networked to laptops running a number of useful ham software applications. On Field Day itself, I was able to make my first HF contacts. This was a memorable experience that I’d love to have others share.
Don’t hesitate to join – all levels of participation are needed! The more hands we have, the more we’ll be able to do.
