As I plan and (slowly) build out my shack and mobile rig, its evident that I will need to run coax through/over/around/behind walls, floors, etc.  But the UHF connector’s 3/4″ diameter make it impractical to use pre-made coax.  I understand soldering is a skill that needs to be done with some care and that skill could likely be learned during a tech night (during normal times).  I can see any number of Youtube videos on the subject, but are there any recommended options for online learning?  Other things to think through?  Thanks in advance.

      Hello Luke,

We use a crimp/solder setup here and it works very well. You’ll need the proper connectors and crimp tool for the coax/connector combination that you want to use. Check out DXengineering for the needed supplies. You can probably find some good videos showing the process on YouTube.

      Have fun with your project!
