The weather outside might be frightful, but the December and January Tech Nights should be delightful! Here’s a rundown of the next two nights.

DECEMBER (11th) Software Defined Radio Workshop

Bring your computers and SDRs to the meeting (and an antenna or two) and configure and/or show off your setup. I (Scott/NE1RD) will be talking about the very inexpensive SDR USB stick devices and the reasonable inexpensive RSP 2 full-feature radios. For those also interested in Raspberry Pi computers this is especially fun. I’ll have a Pi or two to show as well. Be sure to

    • Bring your computers
    • Bring your SDRs
    • Bring some kind of antenna to mate with the radio
    • Bring any software installers you think you’ll need

The goal is to have anybody who brought stuff to have a working system when they leave.

January (15th) Working with Surface Mount Devices

Hamilton Stewart, K1HMs, will give us some insights and hands-on experience with surface mount devices (SMDs). If you’d like to try your hand at working with these devices with an expert Elmer at your side then this is the night for you! This is one of the can’t-miss events of 2019. I hope to see you there.

Any component/kit purchases needed for the January 2019 Tech Night?

      Thanks  Mike KU1V
