We are less than 2 hours away from the ARISS Contact with Bishop Guertin High School and all systems are go!

You can view the pre-contact program, as well as the actual Contact,  at this link on the Bishop Guertin H.S. YouTube channel. The program begins about 14 minutes into the YouTube video at this link.

Local Hams can listen to the downlink from the ISS on 145.800 MHz FM. You should be able to listen locally with your HT and a good whip antenna.

The pre-contact program will start at 12:30 PM EST and the contact will start at 12:56 PM EST.

Congratulations to everyone to everyone involved with this afternoon’s Bishop Guertin High School “space chat”.  It was a wonderful display of technology and professionalism, coupled with the pride and enthusiasm of the students in their interest in their school work and with STEM.

A neighbor of mine is on the board of BG and she complimented NARS for all of their good work on this project.

        Well done – Randall – N1KRB

Thank you, Randall. Jon Turner, AC1EV deserves a good share of the credit for our success. He worked tirelessly along with the school and me to ensure that all of the equipment and internet platform software worked well. We could not have done this without Jon!

Fred – both Jon and you were the professionalism I was referring to. There are so many moving parts to a project like this, that it becomes a wonderful display of so many skill sets. I’m sure the staff and students of BG are very appreciative of the team at NARS. I look forward to the next “space chat”.

BTW – its was quite something to find out how clear the ISS crew member could be heard outside with just an HT. However, for the next ISS contact, could you plan for warmer weather?

Fred, Jon – excellent QSO today. My daughters and I watched the replay just now and they’re amazed by how it all works…a great way to create more interest in STEM.

Thanks for doing all of the hard work!

Just watched the video. Amazing! Wish I had the HT tuned in yesterday to listen. Great job everyone!
