We are hoping to install an AREDN RF Link to connect my QTH to the RF Mesh. The installation target is tomorrow, Thursday, December 11th, starting at around 9 am. Everyone is welcome to join us at my QTH (AB1OC, my address is good on QRZ.com) to learn more about how AREDN RF links are installed and configured.

*** NOTE: There are concerns about the Wind conditions tomorrow. We plan to make a final decision on whether to proceed with the installation by around 3 pm today (Wednesday, December 10th). ***

I will post a final message on this forum once we make a final decision concerning the installation tomorrow.

Just heard from Dave Pascoe, Km3T, who is doing the install at KC1XX –

Too cold and windy. Monday is possible, we will make a call on Sunday night.

We will not be installing the AREDN RF link tomorrow. This is a good call as it’s not safe to be on towers when the wind and cold are a problem.

I will let everyone know by posting here on Sunday evening whether the installation is a go for Monday.

Depending on timing, and if I have work or the kids, I’d love to go and help!

I hadn’t heard of AREDN before and looks really interesting.
