Programming a new-in-box Alinco DR135T I had laying around for my cousin (KD9FRC). Bought the cable off of Amazon for about half the price the distributors sell it for and with 2-day free shipping. And in pretty quick succession without any real issues:
- Grabbed/installed the FTDI driver
- Grabbed/installed CHIRP
- Downloaded the memory
- Picked a bunch repeaters from the RepeaterBook drop-down
- Zapped the channels into memory
Only thing to note was CHIRP gave an error when programming was done. Radio displayed PASS. I just power cycled the radio. And it was all ready to use.
