Recent email from Ken, KU2US. K2K NH is the Top State for 2017 by ONLY 5 CONTACTS!!! Also, the Nashua Area Radio Club is again the Top Club!!! Congratulations to all of our operators!
WHAT DID WE DO THIS YEAR 2017? Our event total this year 2017 is: 127,132 Contacts. We lost out to 2016 by -12,640 contacts. Still, I am quite impressed because of the lousy condx. Everyone did a great job considering that a lot of stations calling us were WAY down and hard to hear, and we had a few “Big GUNS” out, because of problems beyond their control. Over all GREAT JOB! The feedback I am getting is all positive..THAT is what counts the most!13 COLONY AWARDS: This is CRAZY! One state lost out for Top State by only 5 CONTACTS! I rechecked several times just to make sure this was right, and it is! REMEMBER, The figures below are based on what was sent to me.1.) K2K/NH =12,838 (+3119) 8.) K2D/CT =9440 (-1588) GB13COL = 3000
2.) K2M/PA =12,833 (+415) 9.) K2L/SC =9079 (-4732) WM3PEN= 8110
3.) K2J/NC =11,659 (-1986) 10.) K2E/DE =7711 (-3178)
4.) K2A/NY =11,570 (+893) 11.) K2I/NJ =7109 (-2324)

7.) K2C/RI =9516 (+1343)Only 5 of the 13 states were in the (+) plus column, and were in the top (7) seven. Propagation was bad, THEN the next day a sun spot appeared and the bands were great! Go figure! Good job by everyone including our two bonus stations WM3PEN and GB13COL..INDIVIDUAL AWARDS-CONGRATULATIONS:TOP STATE OPERATORS = K2K/NH (12,838) NEW HAMPSHIRE. A nice plaque created by Randy Dorman KB3IFH, will be sent to all winners. For the top state, each state operator will receive a plaque. For Club winner, a plaque will be presented to the club over all.OK 2017 is in the books, but my job and the state QSL managers jobs are just starting! Good job to all, and start thinking of 2018. I could not spend as much time as last year but I did manage to work all 13 colonies and WM3PEN but could not get through for GB13COL. (Might have something to do with that SSB mode, hi.)
